Taiji Qigong Shibashi Set 1 Master Course

The complete internal system from Professor Lin Housheng

Enter the Mastery Path

When you first learn a Qigong movement, your mind is busy remembering

Upper body, lower body, which direction, how far. There is no room yet for anything else. This is normal and necessary. You learn the choreography, you repeat it, and at some point the movement becomes familiar enough that the mind quiets down.

That is usually where people get distracted and move on to the next thing. New movements, a different form, another course.

It is also exactly where the real training begins.

Once the choreography is no longer occupying your attention, the door opens for the breath to come in. Once the breath is guiding the movement, the internal pressure it creates starts to circulate Qi and blood more deeply through the body. Once that is happening, the mind finds a quality of quietness that is not boredom. It is the beginning of entering tranquility. And in that state, a new layer of feedback becomes available: the warmth, the magnetic sensation between the hands, the buoyancy in the body. Your own internal system telling you the practice is working.

Most people who practice Qigong never reach this layer. Why?. Because no one showed them what it looks like, or how to get there.

This course does that.

What this course actually is

The Set 1 Master Course was originally recorded from a live training I ran with a group of acupuncturists. That context shaped the depth of what is covered. The Chinese medicine layer is built into every section. If you have that background, you will recognize what you are hearing at a level most Qigong courses never approach. If you don't, none of it requires that background to practice correctly. The depth is there when you are ready for it.

The course is structured in two distinct layers.

The first layer takes you through all 18 movements with enough detail to establish correct form: structure, alignment, upper and lower body coordination, and the basic breath connection. Sessions run 7 to 15 minutes. You move at a pace that allows genuine absorption, not just accumulation.

The second layer goes back through every movement from the inside out: breath mechanics, internal pressure, Qi perception, entering tranquility, and the clinical purpose behind each position. This is not a more advanced version of the choreography. It is a different kind of teaching entirely.

Between those two layers, you also receive:

The complete Shaolin Zhan Zhuang foundation used to build the structural quality that makes the Shibashi movements work as a therapeutic system, not just as exercise.

Dedicated Qi perception training, covering the progression from surface sensitivity at Laogong through to deeper internal sensing, including the specific exercises used to develop that layer systematically.

Qigong breathing mechanics in depth, covering the anatomical structure of the breath and how breath generates internal pressure that circulates Qi and blood. This is the companion material to the Missing Blueprint of Breathing course.

Medical Qigong theory covering how each movement relates to organ systems, channel theory, and clinical application.

Meditation practices including Guan Qi, Dantian circulation, and Qi ball development.

324 sessions in total. Over 40 hours of material.

What changes when you train with this foundation

The most common response I hear from students after we work through a movement together is: "This feels like a completely different movement."

From the outside, almost nothing changed. From the inside, everything did.

What changes is not the choreography. What changes is whether the movement is driven by the external shape of the arms and legs, or by the breath pressure expanding from the center outward. When the second thing is happening, the body knows it. You know it, because your internal system tells you.

That feedback becomes your most reliable reference point, both for your own practice and, if you teach, for reading your students.

Who this course is for

  • Practitioners who want to understand what is actually happening inside the body during each movement, not just what it looks like from the outside.
  • Teachers who feel the limit of what their training covered. You teach the movements. The internal engine was never passed on to you.
  • Therapists and Acupuncturists who want to integrate a complete Qigong system into clinical practice with real depth and grounded in anatomy and Chinese medicine.
  • Complete beginners who want to build the foundation correctly from the start, without having to unlearn things later.
  • Experienced practitioners who have practiced for years and want to know why what they are doing works, or why it has stopped developing.

If you are considering the Teacher Training, this course is its foundation. The 10 private sessions build on what the course establishes. Starting here is starting in the right place.

What students and colleagues say

"My understanding of patients' patterns is so much deeper and my ability to diagnose and create effective treatment plans is so much faster because of working with Fabrice. My own health has improved immensely just from learning and practicing a few simple postures. This is one of the key missing ingredients from American TCM school and Fabrice fills in the gap most beautifully."

Brehan Crawford, Crawford Welness, TCM practitioner and educator.

"I'm a bitchy snob when it comes to Qigong, and Fabrice Piché is one of the best instructors I've ever met. I followed his Teachable of the 18 methods yesterday and today with tea. I'm a goddamn juggernaut."

Dr. Andrew Miles, TCM practitioner.

"I started lessons with Fabrice back in 2019, and working with him has changed my life. It's not hyperbole. I'm a soon-to-graduate TCM student, and I'm your neuro patient with multiple diagnoses. I also have a life of training in Qigong that I utilized throughout my adolescence and early adulthood to manage my many symptoms. Nothing so powerful and straightforward as the Qigong I've learned from Fabrice. If you're on the fence, do it. Your patients will thank you."

Nick, Acupuncturist and Qigong practitioner.

"I learned so much more about abdominal breathing than I have in my 20 years in Tai Chi Qigong."

Roni B.

"Been doing Shibashi for 30 years. This class adds a whole new concept."

Rob.

"This class brought on another evolution in my ability to sense the movement of Qi in the channels. When I can feel it and understand it better in my own body, I can feel it and understand it better in my patients too."

Kate, Acupuncturist.

"I had a right shoulder impingement that was completely reversed after about 18 months of Set 1. My shoulders felt like rice crispies when I started. After two years my shoulders move much smoother. I used to have to constantly fix my posture when standing or practicing Qigong. Now my alignment is practically perfect most of the time. I had never practiced Qigong before starting Set 1. This is all from ground zero."

Sally, Acupuncturist.

"I never studied Qigong before doing this training. It has completely enhanced the way I practice acupuncture. On a personal note, this training has helped me heal so much on all levels, and thus made me a better practitioner."

Lekha, Acupuncturist.

Where this comes from

Professor Lin Housheng created the Taiji Qigong Shibashi system at the request of the Chinese government in the late 1970s, following his scientific research with Physicist Gu Hansen demonstrating the measurable effects of Qi. The system he built is rooted in structure, breath, meditation, and clinical application. It is not a simplified exercise routine. Every movement has a therapeutic mechanism.

I began studying privately with Professor Lin in 2011 and continued working with him regularly until 2019, before the pandemic made travel temporarily impossible.

I had 15 years of Chinese Medicine and Qigong training behind me when we first met. What he showed me was a synthesis of 60 years of refinement. It was a complete system of principles simplifying everything I had encountered, principles that reorganized how I understood Qigong from the ground up. The Taiji Qigong Shibashi he built is rooted in structure, breath, meditation, and clinical application in a way that most Qigong systems never approach.

Professor Lin personally authorized me to organize, promote, and train teachers in the complete system. I am one of two Westerners with that authorization, documented and signed by Professor Lin himself.

The second image is not a student review. It is the creator of this system commenting on a lesson he watched. Two words that say everything about the standard of transmission this course maintains.

A note on pace

Don't try to move through 40 hours in a week. Even if you have the time, that is information without integration, which produces knowledge without transformation.

Three to six months is the right timeframe for most people, depending on your existing familiarity with the system. Go through the first layer at a pace that lets you practice what you are learning between sessions. Come back to the second layer after you have lived with the movements long enough that the questions it answers are questions you have actually been asking.

The course does not expire. Return to it as your practice develops. What you hear in a section at month two will sound different at month eight. That is not because the material changed. It is because you did.

Before you enroll

Is this suitable for complete beginners? Yes. The first layer of the course is designed to take you from the beginning through correct form. Prior experience will accelerate your progress. It is not required.

How long do I have access? Lifetime access across all your devices. No expiry.

What if I only want to deepen my personal practice and have no interest in teaching? That is a valid reason to be here. The teaching depth in this course benefits your personal practice directly. Understanding what a movement does and why it works changes how you practice it.

Is this the same as the Teacher Training? This course is the foundation of the Teacher Training. The Teacher Training adds 10 private 1-on-1 sessions with me, spaced to your integration, plus merit-based lineage certification. If your goal is to certify to teach, the bundle is the path. If your goal is depth of personal practice, this course is complete on its own.

What is the refund policy? If you are unsatisfied within the first 30 days, contact us for a full refund.

About Fabrice Piché

Fabrice Piché is a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, Medical Qigong, and Acupuncture with close to 30 years of practice and teaching experience.

He began studying Qigong and Chinese Medicine in 1997 at the National Institute of Chinese Medicine in Montreal under François Caron, earning his diploma in Qigong and Chinese Massage Therapy. He later completed a Master of Medical Qigong degree in 2011 through the International Institute of Medical Qigong, affiliated with Henan University of Chinese Medicine, and pursued acupuncture studies at Eight Branches College of Eastern Medicine from 2022 to 2024.

In 2011, Fabrice began studying privately with Professor Lin Housheng, the creator of the Taiji Qigong Shibashi system, at his residence in Los Angeles. Professor Lin is one of the most significant figures in modern Qigong: former director of the Shanghai Qigong Research Institute, pioneering researcher into the measurable effects of Qi, and creator of the most widely practiced Qigong system in the world. Fabrice continued studying with Professor Lin regularly until 2019.

In February 2012, Professor Lin officially appointed Fabrice and François Caron as his authorized representatives in Canada and France, with a specific mandate to preserve the authenticity of the system in the West and correct the alterations that had accumulated in its dissemination. That authorization is documented and signed by Professor Lin himself.

In October 2013, at the 12th Shanghai International Symposium on Qigong Science, Professor Lin publicly acknowledged Fabrice and François as his indoor disciples and invited them to perform alongside him before an international audience, demonstrating the Taiji Qigong Shibashi Elite Edition Set 8. Watch the demonstration here.

Fabrice launched the first Professor Lin-authorized Taiji Qigong Shibashi Teacher Training Program in Canada in September 2012. He has been teaching online since 2012, working one-on-one with students across Europe, North America, and beyond.
